SUPPORT to THRIVE – how we measure our social impact

May Molteno, Trilogy’s Head of Social Impact, has developed a bespoke framework to measure the social impact of our work. She says:  “At Trilogy we know that buildings are part of a complex web of connections in their locality. They impact - and are impacted by - the communities in which they are based.

So, when managing our developments, we understand that to create strong returns for our investors we also need to create social value returns for the communities around the buildings that we manage.

When we talk about building social value, we at Trilogy mean that we want to create thriving communities: tolerant, vibrant, healthy, enterprising, resilient, places.”

To guide Trilogy’s social impact work, we use our SUPPORT approach: we offer SPACE for local projects and groups; we work to UNDERSTAND local needs; we create PARTNERSHIPS and PROJECTS to make things happen; we create employment OPPORTUNITIES; and we use RESOURCES and worker TIME to catalyse positive change.

We measure the impact of our work by our THRIVE framework. THRIVE uses robust measures from both TOMS and the HACT Social Value Bank, to assess the progress we are making towards building thriving communities. It helps us highlight where we’ve done well and where which areas we want to focus on in the future.
