Trilogy Real Estate and LaSalle Investment Management Announced Dual Lettings at East London Creative Campus Republic

- INNOVATIVE TELECOMMS COMPANY LEBARA TO MAKE REPUBLIC ITS NEW UK HQ

- PUREGYM ADDS TO THE WELLBEING-FOCUSED AMENITY OFFER

Real estate investment and development business Trilogy Real Estate and LaSalle Investment Management today announced that Lebara Mobile and PureGym are set to move to Republic at East India Dock – a next-generation workplace campus aimed at companies priced out of Central London and Shoreditch.

In advance of Republic’s official launch in July, Lebara Mobile – one of Europe’s fastest growing telecommunications companies – has secured c.15,000 sq ft in the campus’ recently completed Import Building, making the campus its UK headquarters. Currently based in Moorgate, Lebara is set to relocate over 200 staff. The savings in rent will allow the company, known for its innovative product and working culture, to redirect additional investment into employee training, technological upgrades and staff wellbeing. Farebrother advised Lebara on the acquisition of space at Republic and are now retained to project manage the fit out works and relocation.

The UK’s largest gym operator PureGym has also taken more than 14,200 sq ft of space across two floors in the Import Building, providing Republic tenants with state-of-the-art workout equipment, personal training and invigorating classes. In line with Republic, PureGym will offer its services at a very affordable price point, with preregistrations currently available at a reduced rate of £20 per month. The gym’s fitout has already commenced and is expected to open this summer.

In 2017, Trilogy Real Estate also appointed Nikki Daniels as Wellness Director of the campus – the first of its kind in the UK. Together with her team, Nikki provides personal training sessions, group classes including yoga and HIIT training classes, as well as advisory services to new and existing tenants who wish to increase the health, wellbeing and productivity of their staff.

Robert Wolstenholme, Managing Director of Trilogy Real Estate, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome Lebara and PureGym to Republic. Both further set the tone of our growing creative and business community, with its focus on wellness and tech. Our recent lettings have cemented Republic as a full-service workplace, providing co-working, fitness and hospitality facilities within one convenient, thriving and affordable hub.”

Joerg Zeddies, Chief Operating Officer of Lebara, said:

"We wanted to find an inspiring building. A building with more of an inclusive and not exclusive style, in terms of its management and design. We were of course looking to optimize cost whilst staying within London. With Republic we not only found an inspiring building, we also found the right partner to realize our vision. Throughout the whole process, the Trilogy team at Republic reflected the values we were looking for, such as openness, empathy, innovation. Their service was outstanding as they were able to accommodate the large and small details that were very much part of our consideration”.

Duncan Costin, Property Director at PureGym, said:

“We’re delighted to be adding to our offer in London with a new site at East India. This will be a great facility through which we can offer local residents and workers affordable gym membership.”

Republic is already home to The Trampery co-working space, award-winning digital agency Threepipe and Deliveroo’s East London recruitment hub. The Gentlemen Baristas and Horticulture restaurant are also soon to move onto the campus, which offers rents averaging in the mid-£30s per sq ft, depending on floor and building location.

Republic aims to stem the tide of young companies leaving London by creating 600,000 sq ft of truly affordable workplace that meets contemporary professional and personal needs, with a focus on creativity, connectivity, affordability and wellbeing.

The plans by award-winning architect Studio RHE completely transform the existing first-generation Docklands office development to create a dynamic environment that embodies contemporary work practice. Extensive landscaping is underway, replacing the streets of the original 1990s development, using planting, open water and trees to create a series of external spaces defined by timber porticos and colonnades.
